Buddhism

INTRO:


FOUNDER:
Buddhism's founder is Saddharta Guatama ("The Buddha") an Indian Prince. He was the chief's son of a tribal, the Shakyas.

FOLLOWERS AND LOCATION TODAY:
Today there is 360 million followers, and their location today is China, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia.

HOLY BOOKS/SACRED:
Pali Canon (Trpitaka) numerous Mahauana is more polytheistic.
THEIR RELIGIOUS HOLIDAYS:
Buddha's birthday, Buddha's enlightment, luna quarters
BUDDHISM'S BELIEFS:
Are intended to aid in the journey to enlightment and bring blessing on oneself and others. Meditation is the central focus of zen Buddhism and the only way to liberation in Theravada Buddhism.
DRESS/CLOTHING:
Some Moks and lamas wear traditional robes. Buddhists wear brownish tannish cloaks.
